Hi, welcome to my online portfolio! My name is Kevin An and I'm a recent graduate
from the University of Waterloo.
Here, you'll find things about me that I couldn't fit on my resume, and you can also see other
things I've done (like skydiving!).
Led the end-to-end testing process for several major product version releases, from test
planning
and management to execution and reporting, using Jira and xRay to ensure early
detection of critical issues and reliable software performance
Design and implemented an Appium testing framework and infrastructure for writing
automated tests to increase
testing efficiency and coverage
Developed a Python-based simulation program to test product scalability and performance
that led to
insights on bottlenecks and product improvements
Setup and deployed a Jenkins pipeline job to automate simulations runs, resulting in
increased maintainability
and flexibility for testing use cases
Configured and maintained a comprehensive Postman collection to facilitate the
development of automated
API tests to reduce manual testing time and effort
I was lucky to be featured in a spotlight video - check out the video below to learn more
about my position!
Besides being a full-time student, I really enjoy playing badminton, ultimate frisbee and Spikeball!
I've played competitive badminton since 2015 on my high school team, then in the UW Badminton Club
at university.
I started frisbee and Spikeball in university when my friends introduced it to me, and I have been
loving it since! The middle image was our intramural ultimate frisbee team in Spring 2019.

I am an avid video editor and I love making vlogs. I love to travel but
unfortunately it is expensive so the places I've been to are limited,
but I always try to make some sort of video to remember it! I use Adobe Premiere Pro, PhotoShop, and
a bit of After Effects for a lot of my creative work.
I believe that Tik Tok (almost) single-handedly normalized short videos in portrait format and this
was a perfect platform for vlogs because of its low commitment
to production quality. That's not to say that the videos are low quality, but the voiceover format
mitigates any audio quality concerns while filming.
Here's a 3 part vlog I filmed when I went to New York for a weekend - we toured popular places, ate
lots of food, and biked around Central Park!
Something I always thought about since the start of university was what sort of graduation trip I'd
want to go on. There was a lot to consider such as
accommodations for larger groups, dietary restrictions and activities. With all that, we decided on
an all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana because it would
be the most flexible for everyone. We went in May 2022 for 7 days and it was a fantastic trip - see
the vlog below!
One of the most exciting things I've done so far was skydiving! I have always wanted to skydive but
I didn't meet anyone who wanted to until I attended university.
I edited this video with the footage the camerawoman filmed on my jump down.
Hong Kong was the first time I traveled outside of North America and I went with one of my friends.
It was an extremely long flight but I was able to experience a lot
familiar foods at a whole new level. The video was my first attempt at a travel vlog and it is on
the lengthier side, but there are timestamps if you're interested!
A quick way for me to keep up my hobby of video editing is creating short parodies of pre-existing
videos, such as The Office opening. This idea actually came to me
when I saw a similar edit on Instagram for the Toronto Raptors and I thought this would be a funny
video to showcase my friends.

Web design has always been one of my interests ever since I created a WordPress site for my high
school project. After my first coop with the Faculty of Engineering at UW,
I was able to work on many projects for clients and school-related projects. I created a new
personal portfolio (this site!) to showcase myself and my skills.
This website was built using a Bootstrap template that I personalized and tweaked.
Below are some examples of my work!
Personal Portfolio
September 2020. Built using a Bootstrap template, this was my first
attempt at a fully coded website.
Previously, I had a site on WordPress but I wanted more flexibility and a personalized
design.
November 2019. Built using WordPress, this website is intended to
advertise the business. I worked with the client to plan,
create and maintain the website and its contents.
October 2019. Built using WordPress, this site is intended to showcase
our design team. My team and I created mock-ups for the redesign,
photographed images and updated the website.
